Power steering pump brackets?
Looking to convert my '68 to power steering. Have a "power" gear box ready to go, but need to know what kind of brackets to get for the power steering pump. Have read that there are 2 or more types, based on what kind of water pump you have; "short nose" or "long nose".
Have included pics of my setup, thinking I have "short nose" water pump, but looking for verificataion. Once verified, looking for help with determining the proper brackets; ones that attach to the front of the block/heads or ones that have attachement point to motor mount/elsewhere. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks, Dave |

Re: Power steering pump brackets?
You have the short pump. You'll need a different set of crank pulleys. I got a 2 groove cast iron pulley and a single groove stamped steel pulley along with the brackets and pump. I'm sure someone here has pics of a correct PS.

Re: Power steering pump brackets?
Hey guys ... thanks for the replies and pics!!!
Do any of you .. or anyone ... have pics of what the P/S pump brackets look like if you have the "short nose" water pump? Do they just attach to the block/heads OR do they have any attachment to the motor mount/elsewhere? ChevyDude, what does your P/S bracket look like and where does it attah to the engine? Thanks again for your help ... Dave |

Re: Power steering pump brackets?
This bracket is for small block short pump. There may be more than one type for short pump.
