I am a BIG FAT IDIOT :(
Call me "Clueless Joe".
Two months ago I get my licence renewal for my truck, at which I promplty pay and get new tabs because I actually am very good about that sort of thing. Not once did I: a. Check the VIN b. Question why the Washington State Dept. of Vehicle Licencing sent me the renewal two months early. This last week I get another license renewal in the mail, and I realize my mistake. I accidentally bought tabs for my parts truck, which was supposed to expire at the end of May. I never wanted to licence my parts truck! It's coming apart! So now the new tab is on my daily driver, but belongs on my parts truck. The renewal I got this week is for my daily driver. Since they're both 1969 3/4 ton trucks and the VINs are so similar I got them mixed up! Moron. I'll be on the phone today.

Well, I called them and they told me the big danger is getting pulled over and having to explain why my license plate has tabs but my plate runs as not being renewed. An obvious alternative is to swap license plates, but then the VIN won't match and I don't even want to go there.
They basically told me I'm screwed. I'll have to pay to have the current tabs renewed even though new tabs are on the vehicle. Payment for being a moron.

I went to register my wifes 2000 Blazer in Tx last Nov. and the lady at the tag office told me I had the wrong insurance card.I looked and it didn't match the VIN. I finally figured it out.The morons at the insurance company cancelled my wifes Blazer insurance instead of my Daughters who had insurance under us when she grad from TX A&M. She had traded her Blazer and we cancelled the INs. because she's educated and makes more than us now so she could do her own.I spent over an hour on the phone with my ins. agent then gave up and went to the nearest Allstate office where the lady at the receptionists desk hooked me up in about 10 min.
It pays to check the VIN against the paperwork whenever you are doing any bussiness dealing with vehicle ownership. Guess I'm lucky there wasn't an accident with my wifes Blazer, the Insurance would probably have refused to pay since it wasn't covered. They would probably have paid on the other one though but likely only to the new owner.
