What did you get done?

Yeah, this is kinda early but I may not get in till late tonight. I didn't do anything truck related except go shopping for a new daily driver for my wife. It's about time to get a new one to replace her 03 Denali XL. We are still not sure what to get, but she likes the Infiniti QX 56.

Beyond that I worked all weekend. What did you get done?

Re: What did you get done?

I did nothing truck-wise, except going out to my buddy's house and going mudding his his pond all weekend. We're getting it good and rutted up before the big mud bog next weekend. I found i have a really bad trans leak on my Nova. I guess it's next on my list to fix.

Re: What did you get done?

I painted the new dash pad I bought this week and installed it in the K5. I also sealed up all the ductwork under the dash while it was off. You gotta have ac in this part of texas.

Re: What did you get done?

Spent Sat morning cleaning the truck for our cruise night, which got rained out. Spent Sun trying to track down a oil leak. I think it was leaking out of the back of the valve covers. So I ditched the rubber gaskets and went with cork. Hopefully I fixed it, nowhere else it could be leaking from. Didn't get a chance to test drive, rain again.

Re: What did you get done?

The only 73-87 thing I got done was I painted by new differential cover and bolts to match the freshly painted axle assembly. I also swung by the body shop to check out progress on the bed. All stake pockets, both gas doors, and all extra holes are now welded shut and most the body work is finished. Next up is block sanding then paint.

Other weekend activities included spending the entire day at the Back to the 50's car show on Friday (great show!), changed the oild in my DD and ran errands most the day Saturday, Sunday I spent the entire day installing the drip edges on the shed I have been building and also shingled the entire thing too.

I am pooped today

No I didn't, but I was only there on Friday...which typically has the lowest vehicle count for the three days it runs (maybe it wasn't there that day). There was an advertised 10,500 pre 1965 vehicles there....so lots to see! I doubt anyone could see every vehicle, especially when they drive around too.

It's funny, I brought my digi cam...but never unpacked it and took any pics. I was having too much fun watching the cars, people, BS'ing with friends...and just relaxing. I did see Brock Lesnar there with his wife/GF...that was pretty strange. He's a big gorilla, she was the Playboy model type...both stuck out like sore thumbs!

Re: What did you get done?

I wish I had been able to do something with the truck or blazer but worked all weekend. Hopefully this week weather will stay nice and I can keep on track.

Re: What did you get done?

Checking in...

I got a little more of the brakelines done and got my fuel lines ran.

This morning (monday) I delivered the cab to be fully media blasted. I decided that Gunmetal was out of my price range right now as far as material cost and labor to make the truck look good, so another color has been implimented

When I get it home and get a little futher I may let the cat out of the bag

Re: What did you get done?

Been doing nothing truck wise for the past few weeks. I did pull the new hood off since it was starting to rust. Havent had a chance to put the old hood back on. Ive been showing off my super clean (clear view) hood. Gets laughs so it's cool and people sure do like checkin out the engine of course I expect to find stuff missing every time I come out of a store.

Not truck realted but I picked this little guy up for $300. 94 subaru impreza, 1.8L auto AWD with air and power windows. The PO is a customer and some shop told her years ago it need a trans, that was after she spent $3000 on a paint job so she just parked it and got a new car. The paint is still perfect! I bought it and figured even at $300 and a $500 I'd still be ahead of the game. Turned out it just needed to be serviced.

Re: What did you get done?

Definitely movin' along quickly with my truck.

Down to tightening the final nuts and bolts, then getting a set of shocks before I can put it on the road!

Plan to DD it this summer, but park it for the winter. I want to have it painted before I drive it in the salty stuff.

Re: What did you get done?

Sat: I got home about 5pm from being gone on Annual Training for the guard for the past 2 weeks. Went to Ft. Chaffee Arkansas (just outside of Ft. Smith).. wasnt tooo bad, spent a week in the field and a week in the barracks. Rained a few days while we were in each place.. was nice to get ouf of the field and be able to relax and have alittle fun. There was a LOT of drinking going on and alot of stupid people. I stayed out of all that... was glad to be home..
Sun: taught nursery at church with my wife and slept off and on most of the day..

Re: What did you get done?

I had to install new front brakes to pass inspection, other than that nothing too much rain to work outside...

Re: What did you get done?

A bit tardy here...

I was invited to fly to the West Coast. Speaking of big gorillas, I saw a guy on Venus beach leg squat about 850 lbs. And, he only weighted 'bout 225 lbs. On the way back, stopped in Vegas. Not my kind of town. So, I ended up just hanging out. Stop in the Wynn resort and visited the Ferrari store. I think I found my engine... a $62K F1 V-10.

I checked out the Rocky Mountain Street Rod Show over the weekend. Snap a few pics...
