Anyone replaced entire roof/back wall section?
Has anyone here ever replaced the entire roof and back wall section?
I'm talking about from the bottom of the "A" pillars all the way around to where the rear wall meats the floor? I've got that 68 cab (whe one with the huge hole in the floor) and it's upper section is almost perfect, and my 70 cab the upper section has some rust (not much, but some) ...wondering if it could be done, or even worth the troulbe ...or should I just fix the spots on the 70 cab? any thoughts?

What you are thinking is the best way to do it.In some parts of the country finding a rustfree cab is nearly impossible.Importing a cab from the rustfree zone is costly even if the cab is free.I had a situation where a rustfree cab got damaged in the rear corner behind the door. This thing had original paint and the doors just "clicked" shut.even with the damage.A guy got it and another cab with a rusty floor from me and a shop is grafting them the way you`re talking for around $500.

Sounds more like replacing a floor than the roof. Full floorpans are now available.

Re: Anyone replaced entire roof/back wall section?
Thanks for the replies...
The one with the big hole in the floor..well the hole continues up into the firewall a good foot (PO wanted to make a drag truck)...so a new floor just won't do it on the one. The other cab isn't so far gone that I would chunk it..it's actually one of the nicest cabs I have personally seen down here (at least one that wasn't on a restored truck) it has some rust under the drip rails..and has got some on on the inside corner (above the driver) where the A pillar meets up with the roof.... I could repair/replace just those spots..but I was wondering if anybody had done a full roof section replace...from the factory locations in the A pillars to the rear where it met the floor. And down here in the southeastern states (Fl, Ga, Al, Sc) ..I have never seen a cab in what I would consider great shape.
