Re: Anyone have a model replica of their truck?

I haven't had the crazy amount of $$$ they want for the resin 67 kit (cause I'm trying to finish the "real" one) but I did try to do one like my Z71 (model is a 3rd door 99 and my truck is a 3rd door 2000.) The interior is the wrong color, but I think it looks cool.

Re: Anyone have a model replica of their truck?

I don't have any replicas of my truck.. only becouse i have never seen a longhorn version.
However, I do have 2 short/fleet '72 die casts, one is black, the other is undergoing a frame off going from black to red and white.

Then I have a large 67 short step, it is full of bling and painted a burnt copper with lots of metal flake (think bass boat)

There is also a 68 long/fleet, it is actually a coin bank. I removed the cheesey stock tall by skiney wheels and tires and installed agressive street tires on corvette rally wheels. When the frame off is done on the 72, this one will go under the knife and come out like a 50th annv.

Then I have a small red and white 72 cheyenne, it's more of a toy...pull back and release and it kinda goes. Just kinda.

I also have a few red hot wheels, one of them painted in black primer, then a green hot wheels, and a red and yellow hot wheels, and one purple hot wheels...plus, the 2 primered Von Dutch long/fleets,

I also have 2 unfinished plastic models, one 72 long/fleet, and one 72 K/5.

Re: Anyone have a model replica of their truck?

Howdy, Longhorn Man.
Nice collection! I have a question about the 72 Cheyenne pullback toy.
Is that a 1/64 scale?(most pullbacks are). If so I gotta know where to get one, man! I have been tryin to get something like that-stock appearing to modify and resin cast for HO scale slotcar(truck) racing! I need something like that thats no wider that 1-5/16" wide, at the bumpers. I would use it to make a master to cast a bunch of them for racing in our Nastruck class.
Please LMK if they are still available somewhere!

Thanks---DAC

Re: Anyone have a model replica of their truck?

Longhorn Man, thank you! I have never seen or heard of the Von Dutch 1:64 scale '72. Ok, so it;s not a '69, but that's my truck! Wow, that is bad ass! I found one on ebay, but I will look for one local first.

Man, that is perfect!

The red one (which was the most common when they were out the last few years) it's number is 19/42. The purple one is #124.
However, I think the number that is important (not sure...I'm kinda guessing here) is the number up top where the hook goes when on the rack at the toy store. The red one is 52916, and the purple is 57099.

It's a 1/32 model. it is 5 inches long, 2 1/4 ince wide front bumper, and 2 inches tall. 4 bucks + shipping from this guy on e-bay.

He has some in other colors too, but it sounds like you can't use these anyways.

The only place I have found them is the evil wall mart. They just released a 2nd generation of Von Dutch primer cars and trucks, and these are getting harder to find. Seems the black one is the real tough one to locate. I have a gray one here I sold on the parts board a few weeks ago, but the buyer hasn't sent me any fundage as of yet, and it's been a month. If you are interested, 7 bucks and it is yours. PM me if interested.

Re: Anyone have a model replica of their truck?

70GMCJimmy, I have seen an HO scale slot car of the 71 chevy truck. I saw it on ebay last year and bid but didn't win. I can't remember who made it, but it was one of the main stream slot car builders. I wish I had more info, but all I remember was the box said 71 chevy. They were available from an online seller also for like $50.

Thanks, man, I have dealt with Mike at MEV before and he does great work, but his stuff is a little spendy to hack up for racing. Sometimes those guys have some rejects a person can get a little cheaper. Most of his castings are more like 1/87 scale which really only looks good on narrow tire stock type thunderjet chassis. Fat tires stick out a long way. I'll check his site again tho!

Longhorn-Yah 1/32 is too big, but I will take a look anyway.

Chuck-Cool modeling there, man Nice crafstmanship!
Neat stuff here from everyone. Keep em comin!

Re: Anyone have a model replica of their truck?

Here is a few of mine. The first picture is my 1/18 scle. the black fleet is what I plan on mine looking like. It wasoriginally a 72 and the yellow was a 69, but I switched out the grills and trim to make the black one a 69 (with tan interrior) Hopefully before I die mine will be that way (or at least super dark green)

The other shots show some of my hot wheels size and 1/24 size. I have a few models of our's to do yet and hopefully (like my 70) I get them assembled some day.

Andy, PM sent.
Here's a model of a truck I've always loved.

Here's the model of dad's 69 with a homemade camper.

Here's both trucks together

I have this one that I haven't started yet. I have a couple others I need to finish before starting another.

I also have a spare one of these for sale, but you'll have to look on the parts board for info on that.
