I would buy it!! The 250 I have in my 72 with the 3 speed has never given me abit of trouble. It has almost 200,000 original miles on it and still runs like new. And if this truck has as little rust on it as you say, it's defiatley worth it. I think you should be able to get MORE than $1000 for it when you're done with it. Got pics??

Good luck

Hate to see you post go unanswered but it is so hard to say without seeing the truck and knowing what your needs are. Are there any suspension components that you can use on your truck like discs or posi? $1000 for a reliable daily driver is a pretty good deal but you just might have to spend time working on that truck and not have any left for your '70 which will be frustrating. You can rent a pickup for $19.95 per day here from Home Depot to haul parts and you don't have to worry about it breaking down. I've hauled truck transmissions in my Honda hatch back so I am not sure what parts you are needing to haul...rear ends?

Just my $0.02.

thanks guys, much appreciate it... i almost hafta find somethin cuz my 70 is still in pa and my cuttie is knockin with metal in oil pan, leaves me with the bike... i thought bout the rent thing too, if i had a driver, plus its gonna see alot of junkyard duty too... so kinda stuck... just graduated and no job so had to move home to continue the job search... anyboby out there in IT sales or consulting that could hook me up, or tech ed in a hs???? im gonna head out his weekend to do a compression test on the motor this weekend, but any more opinions, the buckets worth it??? not many parts other than that could be used on the 70 i dont think... but that bucket seat thing is just too weird, someone had some weird ordering habits...
