the point of no return...

well. i finally made some visible progress.

now. before you point fingers are my lack of skill...remember. i'm to the point of no return. i just want to get it back together, and drive it. haha.

so, i give you..2 semi-repaired inner fenders.

shot with gloss black industrial krylon...have a whole 5 gallon bucket full...muwahah. along with safety red. can we say, truck colors?

yes. they're patched. with a 110V lincoln fluxcore. its ugly. i didn't bother to grind the welds. yep.

shinnnyyyyy.

not too shabby. i shot the paint with one of those electric sprayers, Black and Decker, bought it at Fleet Farm for around 60 bucks..it worked okee. if i get the kinks worked out of using it, i might use it over the Binks. who knows.

but to draw eyes away from the ugliness...i plan on painting some cards on the fenders.

cards you may ask? yes. cards. 2's. as in, Deuces Wild, kinda thing. maybe with a bowtie worked in..but yes. thats my plan.

lemme know whatcha think.

.later days.
.sam.

Good job. Use what you have to make it as good as you can. Not all of us can afford a high dollar ride.

Re: the point of no return...

I applaud anybody courageous enough to recognize function over form! It's a truck. It came from the factory designed for it's utilitarian value, complete with imperfections. No one cared then as long as it served the duty it was designed for. Today, many people lose sight of the fact its a "truck" and over-restore, in the process taking the utility out of the vehicle. What do you have then? An expensive vehicle with little or no practical use. I've been guilty of the same offense in the past. Never again! It's "good enough" when it's servicable, presentable, and retains all it's utility value.

Hey, do what cha gotta do!!! Get it going if that's what you are driven to do. I also applaud you for getting with it, and getting it done. I need a small dose of those meds in some areas when working on my truck!!!
