Different size dipstick tubes on 350's??????
My dad has a 350 motor in his 70' that is from the mid 70's (dipstick on driver side) and the oil dipstick wobbles around at the base. He has tried a few replacements but they are too large to even fit in the hole. Were there different size tubes?. I'm going to ride over to his house this weekend to take a look to see what's up but I thought I'd post here in the meantime. Thanks

Re: Different size dipstick tubes on 350's??????
I had problems finding one for my crate. (even after I realized there was one on both sides of the block.) I picked up one from the dealer that fit snug on the drivers side
Oil Tube (GM # 12337946) ($4.61) The passenger side used a smalled diameter tube, I also heard there was 2 different sizes for the passenger side (which I cannot confirm absolutely). The aftermarket ones I tried all fit like crap also. That part fit mine just right.

Re: Different size dipstick tubes on 350's??????
Bill,
Thanks for the part number!. I really appreciate it. My truck has a cheapie chrome one that fits fine but my dad's block for some reason won't accept the chrome ones. Oh well, no biggie. I'll let him know about the part number. Thanks again!

I run a lokar stick on both the tranny and motor fit and quality is great.. Look for them on e-bay they are cheaper there..
