Hood to cowl gap???

How much gap should be between the hood and the windshield wiper cowl? My truck looks wide but I'm not sure what it should be.

Re: Hood to cowl gap???

Well mine is between 5/6 and 3/8. There doesn't appear to be any clearance on the front of the hood to move it back any. I'd like to close it up a little if I can. Any advice on how to do this and what to look for?

Re: Hood to cowl gap???

This should probably be in the "Paint & Body" forum.........

If it only needs to move back (not up or down too) it may be as easy as moving the hood back on the hinge mounts. You may need to adjust the latch in the front of the hood too. It may push/pull you away from your other adjustments.

Do yourself a huge favor before you start though. Draw a line around the washers of the mounting bolts with a Sharpie marker before you loosen anything. This way you can get back to where you started if you get too wackey.
