Finally able to show / took home some hardware

After just recently finishing the truck, it went to it's first show this weekend. Unfortunately for my truck we only got 3rd place. I did not like the voting as they let all the participents of the show do the voting and the 2 trucks that finished in front of me had alot of friends there and they helped put on the show. I know I should not complain but one of the trucks did not even open his hood and he took 2nd place in his 49 ford truck. First place went to a 55 Ferd truck which also took best of show. At most of the shows around here they run just 1 truck class.

I had to vent a little after a lot of hard work. My wife says I should just be happy to have it on the road. She is now wearing sunglasses to cover those black eye's. Just kidding. Heres some pics of the truck. I have more shows and I know it will do well.

Thanks, It is a supercharger. It creates a couple hundred extra horses.

Whew! Niiice. Say, I don't suppose one of those would fit on a 250 inline6, now would it?

What a great looking truck! Glad to hear to are getting to enjoy your hard work. (I can relate.) Remember who you built the truck for, that's all that really matters! I wouldn't mind seeing some more shot of that "fine specimen".

Shane, It is an electric type master cylinder and here is the web site http://www.abspowerbrake.com/
David Stacey put it on Copper Head and that is how I found out about it on the show Trucks. It works great to stop these trucks.

Re: Finally able to show / took home some hardware

Beautiful truck. I hope my 71 GMC turns out as good. I know exactly what you're saying about the car show. My wife and I took the Studebaker to on this weekend. They only give awards for first place, a 57 Ranchero just purchased off of e-bay won. I'm not even sure if it is a truck but it was nice enough (for a Ford). But, he was a member of the local car club so the he for sure got votes from his buddies. I've never been in a club so I always take a beating at smaller shows. I just need to keep telling myself that I'm having a good time and I'm not there to win. I think most of us that don't win go home feeling a bit insulted each time.

Car show judging has a lot to do with me not attending shows anymore! I have no problem losing when I know my truck is in lesser condition (as often the case ). But a lot of shows you may have a judge who likes red fords and not green chevys. It's just a crock of something heavy and brown that smells badly in my opinion! We have found that the cruise-in scene is much more enjoyable. They are always in the evening when it's cool outside, they're free, no trophies=less stress and rivalry. Enjoy your truck man, It's awesome!

A friend of mine was just saying the same thing to me Saturday night at the cruise-in about how it's much more relaxing. He has won countless trophies for his car but he is getting burned out in the show scene.

What color is that? It looks blue and black?
Must be nice to have one on the road to actually drive.
It is very odd to see pic's of washinton state with sunshine.
What type tranny you running? and do you have winshield wipers?

Great looking truck, have any interior shots?

They should drug test the judges, cause they on something! That is a sweet truck, and I dont like 2wds! Seriously, your truck would wear out the competition around here.

Idiots - everyone knows that no matter what condition the chevy is in - it always comes in first over a Freeken old rebuilt dodge - or a Ford -
But your comes in first among Chevys - and that is saying something!
Nice, Nice, Truck!
I think most of us can appreciate the amount of work and detail that is - hat's off.
