Temporary Paintjob for Top
What would be the best way to temporarily paint a Blazer top black?
My top is flaking and needs some fiberglass work eventually. I had thoought about painting it body color one day, but for right now I need it solid BLACK! How do you all think undercoating would look or some type of roll-on bedliner. Of course the only thing about bedliner is that it is pretty permament, so I wouldbnt' be able to repair any cracks or even smooth it out completely. I need some simple right now too, so I dont think spray paint would be a good idea. |

Don't undercoat or bedline it if you are planning to repaint the top. If you just want to make it black for the time being, just spray paint it. It will sand off just fine later on. The undercoat would be miserable to get off and paint over later.

I just don't have very good results with spray paint. I know with that undercoating, it is hard to mess it up.
I will probably buy some decent spray paint and paint it this weekend. |

If it's just temporary, I wouldn't worry about the results so much. Undercoating will go on easy, but it will be absolute hell to get off. It is petroleum based, and will soak into the fiberglass top. Then you will have trouble getting paint to stick if you can get it off of there.

Re: Temporary Paintjob for Top
Get a quart of satin black and a roller. It will cover well and goes on easy...
