Wiring harness question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Reassembling truck and using inside wire harness from stock but how do I tell if it was a guages or idiot light harness just by looking at it? 71 truck with vertical (69-72 fuse box)

Only way I know is to visually look at the wiring for the plug into the rear of the dash bezel. There is a couple wires in different positions. I forgot off the top of my head, but here is a link to GMC Pauls where he has the steps to switch an idiot light to gauge.
