Need more vaccuum for PB
I saw some place were you can add another canister to help out your power brake booster when you have a big cam. How do you hook some thing like this up?

Re: Need more vaccuum for PB
It is a simple cannister that you mount under the hood pretty much anywhere it will fit. It gets a vacuum line running to a fitting on the intake manifold. It ads volume to the vacuum system much like a larger tank on your air compressor. It makes the air last longer before it has to be replaced, keeping everything more stable.....less fluctuation.
It will not increase the vacuum itself. As in, you will not get more vacuum....it just makes what you have last longer. Last edited by LONGHAIR; 09-01-2006 at 10:55 AM. |

Re: Need more vaccuum for PB
So I just hook 1 line into a can from the intake manifold, No line out? Forgive my stupidity I'm just trying to understand. I get the more volume part I think.
It’s just storing vacuum in the can until its needed right ???

Re: Need more vaccuum for PB
Hey jumping in here, but to answer your question about the lines. You'll have one coming from your vacuum source( intake), and another one coming out of the canister and going to to brake booster.
Hope that helps. |

It's a catastrophic success.

Re: Need more vaccuum for PB
Just put a "T" in the line from your manifold to the booster, and run it to the canister.

Do I splice into the brake booster line with a tee? Anybody done this and have pic's or a drawing. Will this help my power brakes due to big cam

Be sure to install a check valve inline between the new vacuum canister and the intake manifold, otherwise it you won't gain anything.
