So, what did everyone get done this Labor day weekend?

Seems a gong tren lately, but not much on my truck. Friday I was on the road 9 -10 hrs bringing my daughter and some other girls home from their nerd HS for the long weekend. Saturday I was one the road again visiting family for the day. Saturday night and Sunday my son came down with stomach virus, so I sat and conforted him. Today got the daughter off to go back to school and I did the brakes on the wife's Bonneville. Who would have thunk 4-wheel discs would take so long (rear's were a pain). On well, hopefully were good for another 50,000. Spent rest of day with yard work. Still helping the son get over his bug, but he's rebonding pretty quick. At least he never missed the porcelin goddess in all the problems. Truck is still staring at me wondering when I will beat on it somemore, but it's coming.

So how was your folks weekend?

Finished rebuild on auto tilt steering column, then worked on house window trim. Been replacing with vinyl and aluminum to minimize future maintenance. Only have two windows left to do. Mowed the lawn and oh yeah, got the mini bike foot pegs on and the rear brake adjusted. Now its a little safer for my son to ride, if he gets his school reading done.

Got a lil done. Painted and installed exhaust manifolds, installed steering gearbox and tilt column, dash pad, first coat of paint on all new inner/out tie rods and linkage. Removed upper/lower control arms so I can take 'em to the machinst this week to install upper/lower arm shafts and upper/lower ball joints. Painted drop spring to match inner/outter tie rod linkage.

Re: So, what did everyone get done this Labor day weekend?

Started Friday morning changing the oil in the 67 Chevelle only to find out it was not charging. So I pulled th eold set up out and installed an internal regulated Alt. Then found a bad wire as well from the Alt. to the batt. so I un-loomed the front of the car and replaced a few wires and removed a few as well.
Had some friends over to help remove siding from my house that still had the original 1928 sears craftsman siding. Then we insulated, re-wired and shear plyed half the house. I will get a nail inspection this week and they can start putting th enew windows, doors and siding on. Next week end they are on their own since I will be buisy getting Married

Then on Sunday I helped some other friends work at the Scottish games and gatherings in Pleasenton Ca. For closing serimonies they had the US Marines brass band play for about 30min. That was the most amazing thing I have ever seen

Today I installed two ceiling fans in our front room and finished the wiring and switches for the fans/lights. Then I went out and detailed the Chevelle for next weekend for pictures and wedding burn outs!!

That is about it, I kind of feel like I was slacking since I did not get any work done on project Lemon Drop but he knows th enext month will be hit and miss. Once I get back from Germany and Switzerland I will really start rolling on that project.

Re: So, what did everyone get done this Labor day weekend?

Installed a front sway bar and it only took me one unplanned trip to the parts store and one to Home Depot. That's pretty good for me.

Txfirefighter's FAQ on the sway bar is awesome!

Re: So, what did everyone get done this Labor day weekend?

Spent the weekend lowering my new seat to fit the cab of my truck. It came from a Tahoe and sat a few inches too high and was not level. And the best part, I didn't make a run to the parts store and didn't spend a dime.

Re: So, what did everyone get done this Labor day weekend?

I went to the Car Swap meet in San Diego and picked up some small needed items from RICKS pickup parts. Saw a Longhorn that had a Super cheyenne badge on the side. I have to ask Andy (Longhorn Man ) on this one.

Re: So, what did everyone get done this Labor day weekend?

I got my "new to me" stepside bed home, and brought some parts to some other board members. Didn't really get anything done, but for my 1 weekend off for this month (and probably next month, too), I think I enjoyed myself.
