After 24-1/2 years, she walked out on me.
That's right! I have stood by her for 24-1/2 years. She was the love of my life and the mother of 3 wonderful kids. For the last ten years I have dealt with her depression, verbal and emotional abuse, acoholism, flagrant spending, three counts of adultery (all in the last two years ) and basically being blamed for everything bad that happens. She had an affair with a neighbor last year who promptly dumped her after he got what he wanted. She is a gorgeous woman who is empty inside and now has decided that she is not in love and doesn't feel a thing for me. She has gone to find that which does not exist for her - true fulfillment and happiness. I finally said enough is enough. If you want a divorce, you got it. This sucks worse than you can imagine..but ya know what?
I still have my truck

Geez..... women are amazing.
Chin up brother. You treated her fairly & went above & beyond. It's time to live life for you & those 3 wonderful kids. Don't look back @ her & close that chapter of life. Best of luck to you.

Re: After 24-1/2 years, she walked out on me.
Might want to put that puppy in someone elses name to protect it Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister or trusted friend. I had a buddy of mine go through a divorce last month. The whole time she was cool about it until it came time to sell the house. She is in Real Estate and had a figure in her head, the appraisal came in short so she ordered another one. Well, that came in higher but still shorter than the number she had in mind so she went after everything he had. He wound up selling his truck even though he had it before they married, nothing is safe. The thing that p!ssed us off was that she was cool about the whole thing, just wanting half of the house and nothing else...people change when it come to money and this really showed us her other side.
Just would hate to see you lose that beauty if you don't have to . Mike |

Re: After 24-1/2 years, she walked out on me.
I feel your pain. I've been through a few marriages and I'm not overly thrilled with the one I'm with. Dealing with your significant others emotional and mental problems can really do a number on ones self esteem. Remember, she had the her problems, she might of made you the brunt of her problems but they were HER problems.
Sometimes I wish I had the capability to be "friends" after it's over, but I need a clean break. Good luck and keep the faith.

I feel you, brother, you'll be better off in the long run for sure. But that is one damn nice truck. Sounds like it's time for a cruise.

It's always sad to hear about these things-especially after such a long commitment! Fortunately, you've got a beauty in your garage and she's obviously more reliable!

That's too bad. It seems like women have midlife crisis too.
Protect that truck and anything else you want to keep. When my second wife split she didn't want anything (except her new boyfriend). The longer the process went on and the more she talked to her friends the more she wanted. |

I read a quote in the paper this week that I may not recall word for word, but the jist of it was... If another man steals your wife, the best revenge may be to let him keep her. Good luck man!

Re: After 24-1/2 years, she walked out on me.
Yep.. Went Thru Almost The Same Thing About 13 Years Ago. It Cost Me About $100,000 To Get Rid Of My Ex. I Raised My Three Boys On My Own. It Was Tragic At The Time... But Now That I Look Back On It.... It Was The Best Hundred Grand Anyone Ever Spent, & My Kids Are All Grown Up.. Hang In There. Youre Getting Some Good Advice Here. At First My Exwife Just Wanted 1/2 Of What My House Was Worth, But As Time Went On Her New Boyfriend & Lawer Convinced Her She Would Be Rich & She Tried To Get Everything She Could. Friends?? ya!! Riiiight It's Amazing How People Change Over Time. it Will Get Better... Honest. John

Re: After 24-1/2 years, she walked out on me.
To bad she can't realize her problem and seek help. Medication for depression would have helped her. Watch out for the kids, As they are going to be torn apart now wondering what they did or could of done. Let them know that it is mommy that need help not them.

Re: After 24-1/2 years, she walked out on me.
I really appreciate all of the kind words. I am not worried about being taken to the cleaners. Fortunately,we just signed a huge construction loan for a new home and that just about cancels out what he are worth. She is leaving with her 2004 Corvette (her 40th birthday present) and a tidy sum of cash. She is getting the good end of this deal. Again, thanks for the encouragement.

Wow! that's rough, hang in there, take care of the kids, and keep that good attitude about the truck!!! i don't have any experience in this matter, except for the "crazy" mother of my daugher, but transfering ownership of your truck might be a good idea...

Re: After 24-1/2 years, she walked out on me.
Seems to me that you are the winner indeed ! If she wants to leave, hold the door for her ! Consult an attorney before you offload your ( VERY NICE ) truck to a family member. The courts can actually make an issue of any trades, sales , etc... which leave ANY appearance of impropriety. Be careful and good luck. Believe it or not, the best is yet to come. The worst part walked out already, Dean
