Replacing fuel pump in a V-6?
As the title says, is it the same changing the fuel pump in my V-6 as in a small block?
Thanks

Re: Replacing fuel pump in a V-6?
Yeah, went to start it the other morning to go to work and nothing, got rained on enough so I took the minivan instead fuel pump was acting up for a while but was hoping it'd last longer.
Thankfully I didn't sell it when I posted it for sale, I've used enough to not let it go now! Anybody?

Just pull the bolts out, take out the old one, and bolt the new one in. It's as simple as simple can get.

Re: Replacing fuel pump in a V-6?
It's actually easier to do the fuel pump on a GMC V-6 than a small block Chevy. It's mounted higher, and you don't have that push rod to deal with.

Yes, a long lever that rides on an eccentric on the front of the cam sprocket.

Re: Replacing fuel pump in a V-6?
Thanks Jake and Bob, I looked closer at the truck after work and the pump is indeed mounted higher, it should be a snap replacing.

Re: Replacing fuel pump in a V-6?
Stubby wrenches may help you out when unbolting it. Just a thought.
