Re: what motor do i have
I didn't find the engine, but if it's stock I would assume a 350.
This is what the heads show 3973487....71-72...350..........used on 71-72 350 LT1, 75cc chamber

Re: what motor do i have
72rat,
I'm not sure what location on the block that engine number came from but if you get the one from the back of the block (on the flange where the Trans. or bell housing bolts) and look it up here: http://www.mortec.com/castnum.htm it should tell you. This page shows the diff. casting # locations for Chevy blocks. http://www.mortec.com/location.htm LockDoc

Re: what motor do i have
I wouyld guess its the 327 cause the 350 was mostly a camaro motor till late 69-70. The end all sure all is to pull a head and measure the bore. What year truck is it out of?

Re: what motor do i have
The 18K183845 is a partial VIN from the original vehicle the engine was installed it. The real story will come from the EI or ET . I'll check it tomorrow when I get home to my books. I'm at the FD tonight but I'll check it out as soon as I get home tomorrow. My guess is that it's a 68. Dean
