Alternator Upgrade
I think that my alternator is going south, a bad bearing. Haven't really determined yet due to this weekends liquid sunshine. But if it needs replacing I want to go with an internally regulated 63 amp unit. What application do I ask the challenged counterperson at the parts store for. Also is there a patch thats available to by-pass the existing regulator or a simple sketch as I am electrically challenged. Thanks in advance for any input or information. This is a lesson for me. I need to take old paint out of the driveway more often. Used to drive daily until the gas prices went through the roof.

Re: Alternator Upgrade
If you search for alternator, you will find the thread about options. When I searched, I found a Camaro 350 HO that Autozone had for like $70 and it's a 90 amp setup.
There are a few different ones that will work, but it depends on what you want to spend. |

Here's a link if you want to switch it to a internal regulator style.
