Nice orderly plug wires

Probably been discussed a lot . I was wondering what is available to run a nice neat wire layout that is somewhat out of sight, like from the back of the engine and around under the headers. Summit sells something that is a bracket affair and routes the wires through what looks to be a billet plate with bushings or grommets arranged 4, 3, 2, 1 and looks like it bolts to the block maybe??? I am running the Hedman Elite hedders and the engine is a small block with MSD distributor.
Any pics or links are greatly appreciated .
Thanks once again for all of your knowledge guys.

Re: Nice orderly plug wires

corvettes run the wires under the manifolds. I have seen dist caps that are reordered so that the plug wires for one side of the engine go to one side of the cap

Check out the Crossfire HEI cap, it's $44.95 but its awesome for the ordering of wires, 4 straight out per side.

Re: Nice orderly plug wires

I'm using these looms with these plug wires. I realize that the looms use the valve cover hold down bolts to hold them above the headers & next to the valve cover, as opposed to under the headers like you asked, but its essentially the same thing. I routed the wires back behind the heads & up to the cap. You gotta use a custom fit wire set like the ones below to do this though. It's very clean & simple. As for under the headers - i think summit has what you need - you just have to use custom-fit wires.

Re: Nice orderly plug wires

I got these off ebay for $30

I saw them on a motor someone posted and had to have 'em. I have a new set of valve covers on the way too, should clean up the engine real nice like.

Re: Nice orderly plug wires

I ran my plug wires under the headers. I had to use the custom length wire set that you cut to length.

I did this before I put the engine in, and was able to remove the headers easily. I just used a few zip ties to keep them tight and away from the headers. It looks nice and clean, but it makes them a pain to work on (not that I really have done anything with them, but if I do) Just something to consider.

I don't have a picture of it right now....I'll try to find one later though.

I did the same thing when my engine was out, and used a bunch of wire ties to keep them neat and orderly. When they are disconnected, they can only reach the plug that they need to go on, so it's pretty easy to work with. It's really handy when you need to remove the valve covers, and cleans up the engine bay a lot.

That's what I have - they do a nice job.
I am using them with some Accel 8.8 race wires - so I had to open them up a little where they dump out so I could get them to clear my headers all nice and good.

They are Billet Specialties. They come with stuff on them too (milled). I like the plain though...

Re: Nice orderly plug wires

Although not the greatest picture, I used looms from a company named Made For You on my 69 Camaro. The picture kinda shows the vertical version that mounts to the valve cover.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

I used standard MSD 35599 wires that route under the headers.

I can take some better pictures if it would be helpful.

Re: Nice orderly plug wires

No problem wolfthing - jimmydean's look sexier than mine BUT yup, very similar. Remember to get looms for whatever diameter wires you are using - OR if the loom blocks are plastic like mine, I just drilled them out... good luck!

Re: Nice orderly plug wires

if you buy a wire set for a Corvette the wires are long enough to run under the headers as that is what i did on my truck..i can't remember the part number right off hand, but i do know it was an MSD wire set for a 70 something vette

They are polished aluminum; they came that way. I'm not even sure what brand they are, but they are pretty beefy, a real nice set actually.
