Superchargers
I have only seen one truck on this forum running a supercharger. Could someone get me some pics and/or prices of the chargers you installed. I've been debating on putting one on my 350.

I chose a little 142 weiand on top of my 383. They (roots blowers) aren't as efficient as a centrifugal type, but they make a ton of low end torque and that's fun on a street driven vehicle.
You can find them on ebay used and a brand new polished setup is around $2K or so. I lucked out and got mine and a set of edelbrock RPM heads all brand new from a friend of mine that abandoned his project ($2500).

if your engine isin't built for the super charger don't put one on it. you will likely just blow the engine. if you really want to go that route spend the bucks and do it right the first time.

You can actually get away with one of the little roots blowers if your only gonna put about 4-5 psi boost in it.....of course, your engine should be in good shape....good compression check, leak down check, etc....

I have a procharger on mine. I am running 10 to 1 compression with 8lbs of boost and making just over 700 horse. I like the centrifugal as not alot of people are running them yet and they are efficient. You can get away with more compression with a centrifugal as they spool up like a turbo. The roots style will give you more torque on the low end. I would have to dig out the reciept to get a price.

I am in the process of installing the same style as bskylerj, but on a small block. You run into clearance problems with the brake master cylinder and power steering pump. Other than that, it's pretty straight-forward. 'Bout $2500 new.

I had to change my power steering system to a remote res. style. Procharger can send you a relocate kit for your power steering pump. They recomend on my big block to do the remote one and they have 2 different style of brackets. I needed the one that shoots it straight down and then put the remote res. next to the maste rcylinder. I went a different master as I would have run into the same issue with the air cleaner hitting. What system did you get? I put the D-1sc on mine. Good luck and let me know how you like it.

I got a new-in-box Procharger P600B kit from a buddy for next to nothing. It already had the PS relocator, so I used that. Required minor 'clearancing' of the frame.
I am working on fitting the famed Fiero booster/MC unit to the truck to clear the compressor- just gotta find the time... What did you use for fuel pump and carb? I think I'm just gonna do a boost referenced mechanical pump and modify my own double-pumper by removing the choke assembly and adding nitrophyl floats. Any suggestions on baseline jetting?

Was really just wondering on the prices here. I've got about 3k to spend when my truck is out of the body shop and I'd really like to either drop it and get a new rear end, or a SC and a new rear end. I realize that that is going to cost more, but I'm not worried about it. I'll have the money. Of course I would build up my engine to fit the needs...
