front end weight? or trick springs?
Does anyone know how much the front end of a 71LWB with a SBC in it weights? or has anyone used moroso trick springs in the front for drag racing? any input would help
Thank you I know they dont make a set of springs for our trucks but was wondering if chevelle springs might work, or if something used the same diameter as our trucks do.

Re: front end weight? or trick springs?
I can tell you that my '66 LWB has 2020 lbs. on the front end ( with a 'glass hood) and several years ago I had a company out of K.C. make a set of custom trick springs for the front. It took 2 tries to get them right, but they didn't charge me for the second set. The company was called the Kansas City Spring Company. I don't have their #, though. Not even sure that they're still around.

Re: front end weight? or trick springs?
ive heard that chevelle and elcamino springs are a comon swap and an easy way to drop a 1-2". i have access to lots of stock elco and chevelle springs at my junkyard but when i looked at the back they looked way to flimsy, thinner spring material and a more open wind coil.
if you are serious i can get more stock specs and pick some up and ship to you. |

Re: front end weight? or trick springs?
the weight nxtruck's said is close to one set offered for a chevelle. i was just wondering if they physically would fit in a 67-72 chevy trucks control arm/coil buckets....
trkklr77: if you could find out for me the spec for a stock truck spring to a stock chevelle spring that would be great. i was trying on moog's web site and a few others to find coil size and everything but was coming up short
