Re: Just got my 57
Looks like a straight truck. Is that a long box? I love the big back window(and looks like a sweet bike in the background too). Good luck and keep us posted with pictures on your progress!

Re: Just got my 57
Wow- An 49 year old unmolested truck. That's a rare find nowadays. Great start for a project. What do you have in mind? As much as I like hot rods, I would almost resto that one. With a few subtle modern upgrades, of course.

Re: Just got my 57
Thanks to everyone. I been looking for one for a long time and finally found one worthy of buying. Not to mention this one runs, and is rust free except for the driver door. We drained the gas tank and blew out the gas line and it fired right up, and I even drove it around the block. I have many plans for this truck but it might take years to finish, but thats ok. I got this truck in a package deal, here is everything I got with the truck. A short-bed frame, 5 short-bed bed sides, really nice wood for bed, brand new polished stainless steel bed strips, new door windows and vent windows, new glove box, extra heater, 3100 fender emblems, new window regulators, one new door relay, extra door handles, door strikers, and a few more extra parts in a few boxes. All of this for only $1300.00 what a deal. I plan to start the project soon and I know that I will be asking for lot of tips from you guys so thanks in advance.

Re: Just got my 57
It just brings a tear to my eye, to see another classic being brought back to life. Another local too, like CAL 58 GMC....I know what it's like to have a project that's taking awhile....I'm coming up on year 3 of mine, but like the old saying goes...Good things come to those who wait.
So what ideas do you have for this classic? Going to restore it?? Minor customizing?? Going all out?? Rat Rod style?? Hot Rod style?? Keep us informed, great looking project and look forward to the progress |

Re: Just got my 57
Hey guys don't take it personal if I dont thank everyone individually, but I'm not the best on computers so I try to be fast about it and say thanks to all of you at the same time. Dont think that I dont want to thank you guys. I really enjoy these threads and there is a lot of info here. I try to follow many of them. So once again thanks.
