Post Hello, and check out my find the other day

I have been reading this forum for awhile and thought my projects might qualify me to join. I went to a swap meet last Saturday and didn't find a thing, so I visited a junk yard I hadn't been to in years. They had a dozen or more 67-72 trucks, but nothing I really needed. I was about to leave when I noticed a 71 GMC behind some rebuilders. I asked about it and stole it for $450. It is a shortbox stepside with rear leaf springs, heavy rear suspension, ac, ps, pdb, rallyes, and brand new tires. I popped the hood and it has a Pontiac 400 with headers and new exhaust.(bonus since I am a pontiac nut) The interior has been nodified and is actually not too bad. I am thinking of redoing the frame and swapping my fleetside body to this since it is already painted. If I can get the engine to run well it will stay there and may get a tripower. I wonder how rough a ride it will be; any thoughts?

Welcome to THE board!!! I'd just like to say that my 72 short step rides like a lumber wagon!!! and I like it that way, of course it is a K-10 with leaves on both ends, stiff sidewall tires and everything is set up to did in the mud with no suspension or body lift, a C-10 should ride alot nicer.
