Re: 350 Cam Help
Most everyone around here recomends the Comp Cams 268H. You really should replace the lifters too. They are supposed to wear in together.

Re: 350 Cam Help
Also that cam will work alot better with an intake, headers, and dual exhaust. The dual exhaust is a must at the very least with some kind of 4 barrel intake manifold. Just not sure what you are running right now???

Re: 350 Cam Help
The guy to ask about a cam is at the cam grinders. The tech line will ask tons of questions. They will want to know, tranny, reargear, tire size, comp ratio, driving habits, weight of vehicle, ect. These guys match cam to use all day every day and have tons of experience and real world use to go by.However I thinjk the 268 suggested above should be in the ballpark.Just remember that unless you lmatch the rest of the combo your performance may not improve and may actually be worse.

Re: 350 Cam Help
That Holley 780 sounds too big for a 350 street engine. If your performer intake is a spread bore just use it with your quadrajet. There are ways to hop up or richen the quadrajet.
PanelDeland is right though. If you want to do it right you need to talk to a cam techline. and tell them what you are looking for. What year model truck are you working on? Do you know the rear end ratio? |
