Big Block radiators
I've got a 69' swb c10 in mint condition, inline 6, three on the tree. Building a 525 ci (600-650 hp) BB/ turbo 350. Need some help on choosing a radiator/electric fan setup. Really dont want to spend the 600.00 bucks on Aluminum radiator, need a cheaper alternative. Big Block guys please help.

Ok, so you're building a 525 and don't want to spend $600 more on a quality aluminum radiator? ummmm kay

You're exactly right, Ive already spent too much on this motor/tranny combo and money is getting scarce that's why I'm looking for a cheaper alternative. This truck is not going to be a show stopper at this point so I'm just looking for a mechanically sound truck right now. Something I can smoke mustangs and nitrous Hondas with on the street and take it to the drag strip when I want to.

is that a turbo'd big block... or a Turbo 350 tranny.... I read TH350 tranny in the description.
I run a 3 row rad out of a later model van, with the bottom neck replaced with the correct 67 - 72 style. Caddys normally run 210 - 230 as normal operating temp.... mine has never been over 200. That's with a mechanical direct drive factory flex (yuk) fan, no shroud, and a 185 T-stat. |

Im a big fan of the TH350 trans but 600-650 HP may be a little much for one to handle. You may want to look into a TH400...

I bought a stock bbc 4 core radiator and flex-a-lite dual electric fan setup to go with my Bill Mitchell 509.

I agree about the trans. Even a built T.H. 350 will not last long hooked up to 650 H.P.. As for the radiator, you shouldn't skimp when it comes to keeping the big motor cool and in one piece. Just my opinion.
