another 6/v8 swap ???
My 70 has a 6 with the 2 speed powerglide xmission. Can I put in a 350 and attach the powerglide to it and keep my original drive shaft. That way I can use my original steering column(shift linkage and all). Will the ps unit bolt in also and still use my old steering column. Hope that is not too confusing. Thanks Ben

Re: another 6/v8 swap ???
If yours is a 250 I6 just remove the 250 and mount the 350 on i6 mounts in the position they are in. Now to the power steering. If your i6 has power steering, ie the pump and brackets, it wont work with v8. But dont chunk it though, they are worth $$$$$. just get a v8 pump and bracket set up. Your steering gear and colum are not an issue.Hope this helps.

Re: another 6/v8 swap ???
Thanks 72s. All these parts are coming out of a 72 w/v8/ps/pb. My 70 has no ps/pb. Want to do a complete swap. Will the powerglide be an issue behind a 350??

No, if the old PG is in decent shape, it wont be a problem at all

Re: another 6/v8 swap ???
I dont think so. You got to remeber alot of the 327 cars from the 60's had powerglides. For the time being Id stick with it. Oh here is a thing you might want to know, if you want to put a th350 in later get a set of the v8 motor mount towers and put them back. If or when you want to put a th350 in just get one with a 6" tailshaft and move the motor forward and install on the v8 towers and you will find you wont have to modify the drive shaft. As for your power steering question. You shouldnyt have a problem with the set up from the donor truck. Just make sure you got the rag joint, steering coupler, with the gear box and the pitmon arm. They should bolt right in. Hope this helps.
