Goodmark lost it's GM License??

Any truth to this rumor? Would not be surprized but will surely impact it's "premium" pricing strategy. Also heard one of their executives was brought up on charges for some illegal action!? Anyone know the real truth on this??

Goodmark probably sold/sells many Triplus items.
Goodmark is just a reseller with an excellent marketing team

Re: Goodmark lost it's GM License??

The Story I Got (i Am A Goodmark Distributor) Is That Goodmark Decided Not To Pay For The License Any Longer. If You Look At The Website, And In Thier New Catalogs, The "gm Certified" Logos Will Be Gone. Even On The Parts You Order, The Logo Will Be Cut Off Or Spray Painted Over. I Don't Think The Quality (or Lack Of Quality, Depending On The Part) Will Change Any Though. And Tri-plus Does A Good Job. They Stamp Alot Of Parts For Goodmark, And Sherman Industries, And I Have Had Good Luck With Them.
I Would Like To Hear Some Opinions On Dynacorn, If Any Body Has Dealt With Them. Thanks, Todd

The same ones that made them for Goodmark before.

ALL Goodmarks is doing is NOT paying for the silly logo that says GM certified because it costs an arm and a leg. They didn't lose a license, they stopped paying for it.

Their sheetmetal supplier is NOT changing. Tri-pluss is the supplier for the majority of sheetmetal parts for Goodmark except for the ones that they get from GM dealerships.

My secondary suppliers sells the EXACT same parts Goodmark does, just cheaper, since you don't have to pay (at the time) for Goodmarks name AND the GM stamp on particular parts, you got the same thing and got it cheaper. Goodmark probably decided to stop giving money to GM for absolutely nothing but a stamp, and use that money for profit. It was a business decision.

I just checked their site, and all of the GM stuff is gone, and no tailgates with GM lettering. I'm not 100% on this, but I think they used to sell stepside tailgates from GM, but I think they were in the $350-$400 range.

Re: Goodmark lost it's GM License??

GM has been charging an arm and a leg for that certification, and bullying vendors to remove any Gm or CHEVY or any trademarks from anything they print, that, or pay GM stupid money.... ford has been doing the same, mostly in the mustang market.

I agree. I have tri plus doors, rockers, floors, cab corners, etc.,and had very few issues installing them. I was impressed at the weight of the doors. A lot of people on the board dislike them, but I like them. My truck is garage kept, so I also dont worry about the effects of the weather on them, so maybe that is the difference.

I think you can still get stepside tailgates from GM.
