Very noisy, it works for small stuff. Ive sandblasted with it, took quite some time though.

What you want to look at aside from the noise is the cfm output at 40 and 90 psi. The more the better and the longer you can run your tool. Look at the home depot # versus the sears. Hugh difference. Might be quiter but will have to run more and you will have to wait. Search compressors online and you will find an index that will ask you what you want to do and explain the numbers. I searched this myself when I was looking. Example you can have a comp with a large tank and hp but if its output is low then it won't run the tools you want no matter how big

Believe me, the 33gal compressor sucks for sandblasting, sanding, or running a cutoff wheel. The pump cant keep up with the demand, it will run continually if you are doing any of the above.

Try to stick with a belt driven compressor. They are much quiter. The ones like that Craftsman will get on your nerves after awhile.

what else can i get for about the same price? it's $299. mind you, i'm not going to run a shop or anything...i just need to be able to use an angle grinder, sander, air chisel, maybe paint, an impact wrench and an air ratchet

You would be much happier with one of these. The tank is a liitle smaller but they will save a headache.

which one is in the first link? all that does is take me to the home depot page. i'm looking at that one from sears BUT it doesn't come with the 10pc tool kit that the 33 gal one does. decisions decisions.

i'm leaning towards the 25gal sears one that South posted about. It looks like that's gonna be my machine. It's just too bad that it doesn't come with any tools.

60-80 gal. stand up, sorry don't have exact specs, motor on the top type,
and for $799 you can get one that is beyond the bad ass model, I think the
$400 range one is IR (Ingersol Rand) but his stock rotates, it is a outlet

Use the 299 for a down payment and get one of these bad boys. You'll be able to run just about any airtool. It will be the last compressor you'll buy.

I finally broke down and bought me one after owning 4 or 5 of the cheaper ones.

I paid 800 for my Quincy and I run the yell out of it.
