Re: spot welds on the bedsides
Are you reskinning the whole bedside?

Re: spot welds on the bedsides
explan what you are doing. if you are reskining the bed side only. the welds will be on the lip that turn down towards the bed. ___

What he said...They are easier to find if you do a little sanding first. Drill them out and voila, 2 pieces. Getting it back together is a #$@!^%$ by the way. Ask me how I know...

they are not on top where you got the blue arrows they are on the small lip that turns down towards the bed floor

Re: spot welds on the bedsides
My67c10 there are also spot welds behind the cab where the inner and outter skins meet. If you wait a couple of days I can get you pics of my bed skin that I removed and it will show where all the spot welds are. Plus the stake pockets are supposed to stay with the inner box not the outter. The outter is held on in the rear with spot welds along the edge next to where the tail light holes are. Hope this helps. If you want the pics please pm me and I will go get them for you.

Re: spot welds on the bedsides
Im sorry I completely forgot. But here are those pics for you. The red dots represent the spot welds. There spacing and quantitry varies from bed side to bed side but they will give you an idea. I would drill out the inner spot welds when seprating the skin at the front behind the cab as since it is flat metal and will also brace the side to keep it from warping. I also marked where the spot welds are around the tailight housing. They are harder to spot but they are there. Hope the pics help. Sorry I forgot about the pics for so long.

Re: spot welds on the bedsides
I Could be wrong but I think the spot welds on the back of the panel near the taillight are around the corner facing the tailgate.
Do you plan to weld these back on the truck? - you might want to check out using "glue" like a 3M Panel Bonding Adhesive or SEM etc. - Eliminates water getting between the two layers of steel - really good idea around the wheel well.

Re: spot welds on the bedsides
Buy a unit-spotter, and you won't have to pull the skins off to take the dents out!!
