motor mount position
What is the correct position for a v-8 in a 68 pickup. mine was sitting with the mounts right at the back of the x memeber. my trany has a short tailshaft on it as well. I'm probably going to get a x member and control arms out of a 79 pickup. How easy are they to swap in

Factory V8 smallblock has the stands bolted to the front of the crossmember(2wd). The stands are also different than the 6/250 stands. You can set the engine in on the 6/250 stands, for a little weight transfer, but the HEI dist will fit a little snug to the firewall, but will clear. I havent swapped a later crossmember,so cant really say on that one........69

the 283 that was in there was close to the fire wall. i couldn't pull the hei with the cap on, but with it off it would slide right out. Does anyone have a pic of which holes to use
