How low to go w/trailer in tow?

I'm leaning toward performing a 3/4 drop on my '73, but unsure which combination to use if I plan to occasionally haul a car trailer? If it matters, the truck is a 1/2-ton 2WD which will eventually become a SWB. Also planned is a set of 15X8 rallies, so will I need to consider control arm clearance in the front?

depending on how you will be lowering your truck the thing that will matter the most is how much spring rate you will have in the rear to keep the extra weight of the trailer suspended. There will not be any problem to tow with a lowered truck as long as you can carry the extra weight without the suspension bottoming out. On the front I don't know of a reason why you couldn't run the 8" wheel with the factory arms.

put some ride bags or such in the rear to compensate for the extra load and drop it however you want.

Thanks guys, I think I've got it. Looks like the Firestone bags will do the job.

The 8" ralleys will only clear 2.5" spindles (mine are Western Chassis). The 3" drop spindles (like DJM) will cause the lower control arm to rub on the rally wheels.

Cool, I thought that I read that somewhere but couldn't retrieve the thread. I've located a 2.5/4 kit that I'll likely use. Thanks!
