grant steering wheel prob

I scored a grant wheel that came off a 82 chevy truck with the adapter and all. Tried to put on the 71 and it hits the whie plastic horn hub before it can get close to even engaging the splines fully. What have ya'll done to install grant wheels?

Hmmmm, not sure, is it a shallow housing Grant? the adapter may be the only solution

Re: grant steering wheel prob

wow, thanks for the speedy replies
I dunno what hub it is. I'll see if there is a number on it when I go back to the shop. Apparently the columns from the 82 chevy is diferent than the 71 enough to make it not work?

Re: grant steering wheel prob

The 71 & 82 trucks use different Grant adapters. What you need is the Grant #3163 adapter. The install of the horn mechanism is kinda hokie on Chevys. When you buy the new kit, the instructions will help.
