Door locks
Hello everyone,
I now own a beautiful 1970 swb c-10. The damn doors will not lock with the key. What is the fix for this? All the door parts and pieces car in place, but they do not want to work together...I tried search function, but came up short. Any help would be great. I will post pics as soon as I can David |

Re: Door locks
It's possible that your key is not the right one for the door locks, or the mechinism is rusted up and will not move..

Re: Door locks
Do they work with the doors open? If they do then the striker adjustment is too tight. Chris

If they lock with the door open adjust as chris said , and if that doesn' t work try pushing in on the door while locking. Sometimes there is enough wear where the cure is a new latch.

Re: Door locks
a little lubrication can go along way to solving some problems

Re: Door locks
Replace the locks if you need to. They are real cheap and very easy to replace.

Re: Door locks
I have the same problem. Door locks while open but not with the key. Do I need to lube/loosen the latch or striker adjustment as descibed above? The next question would be how do you do this?
