What did you get done? 01/14

I didn't get a dang thing done this week. I have been trying to get past a freaking cold/flu thing that just won't let go. My wife and I both have it so it's really been a load of laughs around my house.

I pushed myself all week to stay on the job. By Friday I was drained to nothing, and slept in Saturday morning. Today I did go to Church but that was about it.

What did you get done?

Nothing truck related...

Painted my youngest kids room and built some new beds... Consolidating kids in preparation of the addition of #3. I still have headers, an ignition, plug wires and more to install. Sometime...

Re: What did you get done? 01/14

I had two major projects to work on this weekend.

For one, I'm almost done with the motor swap on my talon. Getting sick of not having a car to drive, so that's motivation to work hard on it. I really wish I could've enjoyed the AWD in this crap weather we've had over the weekend.

Next one is getting prepared for the upcoming carshow (starbird) here in Wichita. I bit the bullet about 2 weeks ago and put a Down payment on a booth spot, so now my brother and I are in a crunch to get displays, merchandise, business cards, invoices, etc. etc. together before wed.

Here's the new business cards I created over the weekend. I was pretty content with them, considering my photoshop skills leave some to be desired... The background is grainy in such a large size, but on business card stock it looks pretty good...

Thumbs up Re: What did you get done? 01/14

Well, yesterday I airbrushed a couple of model funny car bodies & a few other parts. Today I changed the oil/filter in the 'ol 69 GMC & I pulled my back bumper. I cleaned, repainted it & got it back on before dark!!

no, i don't wanna release what it is for until the trade is set and done, but the guy didn't want to give enough with the camaro, i know how much he had invested in it(bad choice when it comes to trading with other people), and i am good friends with the camaro owner, and i not only himself know he can get more for it than what i offered, he wanted my car because it has all it's stock body panel's, with the original ford tags, so he could twin turbo it, all i wanna say on the trade is that the car is black, and is a 5-speed

Re: What did you get done? 01/14

I worked on the truck a little bit this weekend. I got the entire fuel system finished, throttle and TV cables installed, and started buttoning up some of the small piddly stuff on the engine. I hope to fire the truck up shortly, just have a few odd n ends to finish up before that.

Here are some pics

I got the LS-1 finally pulled from the 1999 Camaro that I am parting out. Now if it would somehow replace the 305 in my Blazer I'll be done with the swap. A little rain wasn't going to stop me today!

Re: What did you get done? 01/14

Wow, I see lots of "Nothing truck related" and my entire weekend was truck-related (almost)

Friday: Orders came in from LMC (misc. distributor pieces, plastic cowl panel, and hood to cowl rubber) and Summit (carb gasket set and acc. pump), also picked up other misc. dizzy pieces from the Zone.

Saturday: Dad took apart the carb, cleaned it, put it back together, while I cleaned on the firewall and built the distibutor cap+pieces. Also removed the hood, gonna paint it when it dries out down here, which might not happen for a while. All that nasty winter stuff in OK is headed down here... Oh Boy..

Sunday: Work all day.

Me standing on the framerail while cleaning the firewall.

Re: What did you get done? 01/14

I kept up steady progess on all of the smaller stuff I gotta get finished, hoping to get my interior painted up with this vinyl die stuff I found at Napa.

Jeff, where did you get that steel braided line from? Spendy stuff, or fairly affordable? I gotta do something about the fuel system I rigged up on my TPI to get it running, make something a bit more permenant, easier on the eyes than the used, frayed, kinked and greasy TBI braided hose I've got now :P

Re: What did you get done? 01/14

Steven, don't feel bad...mine has been apart longer than yours...so you still have time to catch up.

Russell, you can get the braided line from Jegs, Summit, etc...and cost will vary based on diameter and length of hose. What really adds up fast are the fittings!

Re: What did you get done? 01/14

Changed out the starter on my 78 k-10 and changed the oil. Hopefully this solves all the starting issues I have been having with the old girl. Need to double check the timing and look at the choke coil and she should be good to go. Next project is to get the 403 Olds out of my ex-diesel parts truck and put it in the place of my tired old 6 in my white 79 C-10. Tired of a truck that burns a quart of oil every 50 miles.

Re: What did you get done? 01/14

Got the 350 engine home from the donor 79 k10 I gave my kid for a school shop project.

I'm evaluating it for...
A: Keep for spare (I have a 80 K10 and a 73 K5)
B: Go thru, refresh and save or sell.
C: Build it up!

Re: What did you get done? 01/14

Well I haven't worked on my truck in months now. As a matter of fact I haven't even over to see is and start it but a handfull of times. I did however break down and order a front end rebuild kit from PST and it should be here this week!! Next will be the spindles and springs and rear flip kit!! I have to find a sway bar for the front now! I would get some motivation when it turns 30 degrees and ice outside! LOL!!

Re: What did you get done? 01/14

truck related? I watched it being hauled away on a flatbed... full story here------>http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=222959

Other than that I rewired the drier and did laundry while it sleeted 2".. still have power so thats a plus, but now there is 2" of solid sleet all over everything. Looks like virgin snow until you step on it and it doesnt give, not even under the weight of a vehicle.

I am going to look at an 81-82 Dually flatbed as soon as I can... dont have a real need for a long flat bed, but I have a stack that would look killer and I definately need a truck living in the country. The mpg may kill me... will have to see..
