I went and got oil and a filter for the wifes car yesterday. Pulled it in the garage last nite. Got it on jackstands. Well after getting it done I went to jack it up and my jack wouldnt work

. It happens everytime when its really cold out. It took me forever to get it to work finally i got pi$$ed off and put my jack on the woodburner to get the fluid warmed up to work. Yeah i know i didnt like doing it either but i had to get it off the stands. My k1 heater was out of kersosene and well i wasnt wasting 10 bucks in gas to go to town and get some. Ok im all better now!

I'm amazed at some of the problems cold weather creates that I have never heard of before. Guess I'm spoiled living in california all my life where driving your old car or truck year round without a heater is just the norm.

Wuss!

I just checked the Weather Channel's website and it said it's 3 degrees out (-15 with wind chill). I just finished putting rear shocks on my truck OUTSIDE since I don't have a garage. In all fairness, it says you are 17 degrees right now, which is still pretty freakin cold!

I know what you mean man. I have a garage but it isn't insulated or heated. My truck is tore down to the frame and the engine is tore apart. I'm up to where I need to primer and paint them. Paint doesn't stick to metal when 20 degrees. I'm in southern Illinois and it was in the single digits last night. I REALLY want to work on my truck!!!!!!

I feel your pain. It was 2 degrees this morning when I started my truck (4:00am). It was a balmy 21 degrees when I left work at 5:30pm. The p/s pump on my superduty groans BADLY when it's so cold out....probably wakes up the neighbors...

it's about 68 degrees in my garage. if any of you ill boys want to come over. and work on your truck. i am home on the weekends. friends are always welcome. i never turn the heat off.
my trucks might get chilly

rage'nrat638, if you weren't 5 hours away from me, I would probably take you up on that offer. I'm hoping to have a heated shop soon. Until then, I have to wait until March probably.

I love my woodburner it heats the garage pretty good for not having insulation. 18x18 ft garage and its about 60 degrees in an hour. It takes really stokin the fire to get it warm when its in the single digits.
