New and Learning
Hi everyone. My dad retired from farming a little over a year ago and right before he did he hand delivered my grandfather's 1967 2wd fleetside longbox to me on a trailer. Grandpa died in 1970 and the pickup pretty much just sat around with toolboxes and a fuel tank in it to use for a backup vehicle if anyone needed it. Last 3 years before I got it was spent inside a shed not seeing light for most of those 3 years. Before dad left he said "she worked hard, now its time for her to be fixed up". Im going to do a frame off and convert to front disk brakes. Think I will replace the 250 six, and put a 327 in it and use the original trans and rear end. Not going to go too overboard but I want to have a little fun. Thanks to the guy who posted the 1-800 number for chevy. I have my information coming for rebuilding it. Look forward to any advice.

Re: New and Learning
My ex brother in law got into a small fender bender 6 or so years ago and the body shop said that only 1968 front fenders were available. Thats why it has a turn signal on the left fender. Obviously that is being replaced cause I see that 67 fenders are available by just about all the catalogs that I have gotten. Thanks for the welcomes. One thing, it has an incredibly low rear end in it and a 4 speed with a granny low. Thinking of speeding up the rear end a little so the engine doesnt have to rev so high to maintain highway speeds. Any suggestions?

Re: New and Learning
Yeah it is pretty clean except for dust, needs a little TLC. The rear cab corners are rusted through but thats it, all the rest is just surface. Checked the floorboards and they are solid, dont know what I will find when I pull it apart but for now it looks ok.
