Automatic & Manual Crossmember
Would a TH400 fit with both inplace? And using a floor shifter?

Are you talking the bellhousing mount style crossmemeber?If so I think it has to be removed,since there isn't clearance for the tranny.

Get a battery operated grinder. Or put a grinding wheel on your drill, it'll take a little longer. If you are really patient, use a file to grind the rivets that hold the cross member on. Where there is a will, there is a way.
