Power window crank/switch.
I swear I had seen somewhere before, a power window switch that worked off of the factory crank. It was for when you wanted to have a stock looking interior. You just pulled up on it to roll the window up or pushed down to roll it down.
Has anybody seen this set up? Is it something that can be bought or something that has to be custom made?

Re: Power window crank/switch.
I thought the same thing. I'm going to check with places like sirmichaels and godfather customs. Maybe they have something.

Re: Power window crank/switch.
Street Rodder has them listed all the time.I don't remember who makes them but you might also check with Brothers since they do one piece windows and power window set-ups they may carry those also.

Re: Power window crank/switch.
I was sure it was electriclife or A1 that had those but I can't find them on their site now.I'll keep looking.
I think AutoLoc is the business advertising in the mags.I checked there site and they mention something that sounds like those switches, yet there are no pics that I can find.

Re: Power window crank/switch.
They don't give a ton of info. I assume you need one switch for each door, or wire in some sort of toggle so that the one switch will roll down one of both windows? My "plan" is to install the new one piece windows and convert to power. I just don't want the new style window switches.

Re: Power window crank/switch.
Yes, you need to buy two, and if you want the driver side switch to work on the passenger side, you do need to wire it differently and include a toggle.
I used a set on my truck, using the A1 bolt on power window kit, with the one peice windows. The switches have three mounting holes, and you have to either fab up a plate to mount them, or cut out three notches in the current window regulator opening in the door. I still have the install info on my switches, so let me know if you want a copy so you can review it... Last edited by John Fabris; 02-13-2007 at 12:00 PM. |
