Re: Powder Coating Engine Bay Parts
I don't have any pictures with me, but on a buddies truck a few years ago, we went crazy. We shot everything that you could take off.
Pullies (chrome) Hood hinges (chassis black) Valve Covers (Raw aluminum shot with nickel metal flake clear) Intake Manifold (raw with the same metal flake clear) Air Cleaner (B&M scoop style with the same clear as the intake and covers) Every accessory bracket (Chevy orange) Alternator body (shot chrome to match pullies) Battery tray (chassis black) Core support (chassis black) Front/Rear springs (Shot in safety yellow) Dual Shock towers (Safety Yellow) Frame (chassis black shot by Continental Coatings in Lake Oswego) It was a '73 4x4 and all the suspension was yellow to match the SuperLift kit we installed. The metal flake clear worked better than the polished look, I thought. It was also easy to keep clean.

Re: Powder Coating Engine Bay Parts
Here's a few pics of things I powdercoated in my back yard. Basically anything I could fit in a kitchen oven.

Re: Powder Coating Engine Bay Parts
when you do powder coat your parts what helps is that you cap off all bolt holes and anything that a pin or bushing goes in cover it up this will save you time from scrapping and cleaning threads out

Re: Powder Coating Engine Bay Parts
Krue is that the correct color for those parts or did you just do them black because you wanted them powder coated and black is what you had?
I know the fan, pullies, air cleaner, and engine mounts are black. But I am not sure about the rest. Hood latch, spark plug heat shields and looms, accessory brackets I think acessory brackets were black.

Re: Powder Coating Engine Bay Parts
I got a deal on medium gloss black. I also did the valve covers in black. I like the way it looks and didn't want a challenge (such as high gloss) for my first try at powdercoating. I didn't even stop to think if it was stock looking or not.
