72 5 lug front suspension to 67 truck swap?

I am planning to swap the front suspension from a 72 onto my 67 to gain the 5 lug wheel bolt pattern. My question is how much of it do I need to take? I am guessing the spindle and rotor/hub but wondered if I need more or less? Are the control arms the same?

To make this even more complicated. . . my 67 already has a disc brake conversion from Chevy duty (still six lug on it). Can I keep the new Chevy Duty spindles? I think they are drop spindles, hence the interest in keeping them, but won't be sure until I pull the wheels off and look.

Thanks for any advice.

You may want to call Chevy Duty. From what I have learned the 6 lug rotors are made to replace a 5 lug on the same spindle. What are you going to do with the 6 lug rotors?I'd be interested in them.

Re: 72 5 lug front suspension to 67 truck swap?

From what I understand, the spindles are the same, it's the rotors that are different. The control arms are the same, but the ball joints are different, but that may have been changed when you did the brake swap.

From what I have been told, when I decide to go 5 lug (when I do a rear disc install), I can just change the rotors for the 5 lug version and keep my existing drop spindles.

Re: 72 5 lug front suspension to 67 truck swap?

Thanks for the info. I was hoping it was that easy but find that things usually aren't. Manimal I added you to my buddy list. I think I will have the 72 parts vehicle this weekend and if so will let you know. I don't have plans for the six lug rotors. They are two years old but probably have less than 500 yards on them (read project vehicle not complete yet, but getting close). I did drive it up and down the block once.
