Re: Black with CRAGARS?
there is nothing prettyer than ss cragars but the drawback to them is there uni-lug. not like the old cragar wheels in the past. its a weak design especially on a pickup.

Re: Black with CRAGARS?
Only the 14" & 15" dia. S/S's are Uni-Lug. The larger 17"+ are bolt-circle specific.

Re: Black with CRAGARS?
Exactly B. Love the look on that one. All it needs is the American center caps and you're all done. Seriously thinking bout some of those for my 69 stepper. Cast centers with polished rim lips look great. Real hotrod look.

Re: Black with CRAGARS?
That SUCKS! I was wanting to paint my truck BLACK and run CRAGARs 15x8 rear and 15x6 front. My dads old race car was 66 Nova SS,black with Cragars,DZ 302,tunnel ram 2 Holley 660's.Ran 6.69 1/8th mile.I just wanted to "look" like that era.

Re: Black with CRAGARS?
They would be wonderful for show use but driving long distances caused mine to warp on me. I love these things too.

Re: Black with CRAGARS?
well dont fret my friend this old dude has the answer. try american racing wheels torque thrust wheels and if you want them polished try torque thrust two,s. killer wheels. its what i run on my 1970 chevy 1/2 ton. 15x8 fronts, 15 x 10,s on the rear. i just got the standard torque thrusts and had them polished. my crack head polisher tried to rip em off once he got them polished for his habit. i found em and warped his head. drugs ....... only loosers do them . he lost a 500.00 $ a week customer all for drugs. not to mention the other customer he lost.

Re: Black with CRAGARS?
For my money the Torque Thrust D is the wheel! I have a black short step, and I painted the centers of my Torques a gun metal grey. They make the truck. My .02.

Re: Black with CRAGARS?
Fwiw, when I ordered my TT2s the other day at my local Les Schwab store I was given the option of the dark grey centers, this after the store called to order my wheels. I was told because they had to build my wheels anyway [not in stock], that that option was available. I ordered 20x10s with reverse lip and only 3" BS, I guess they don't keep those in stock. 18x8s for the front.

Re: Black with CRAGARS?
The only problem between cragars and TTIIs is that the TTIIs are way more expensive..... Both wheels are timeless and will never go out of style..

What??? No spinners on those Centerlines? Where's the love? Here's some on my smallblock powered S-Blazer. You gotta have spinners with those wheels.

TT 2's are timeless!!!!!!! If mine was a 5-lug thats what I'd use.

Re: Black with CRAGARS?
Here is mine with 15x10 centerlines... I was also thinking of running cragar SS wheels.. They are beautiful.. I ran them back in 1986 during highschool on my 79 camaro and loved them and never had any problems... I was thinking 15x10 in the rear and 15x4to15x7 inchers in the front.. Post some pictures if you go with the cragars and I will do the same..
Good luck and keep us posted as to what you end up with.. James.. |

I got the Cragar love. I haven't had any problems with them - knock on wood. I have promised better pics for a long time, but I will hopefully get some soon. They just fit the year of the truck you know... 15x10 rear and 15x8 front. DLB Last edited by Orange; 02-16-2007 at 04:49 PM. |

Re: Black with CRAGARS?
weld draglites all the way, anything weld is a good respectable rim in quite alot of common sizes.
Still any form of rim is a rim, and at if it holds air, doesnt warp, and can fit a tire around it and still looks good. Ive been looking into american racing vector se or torque thrust D for my 69 Project, whenever i find the ideal truck. Could be a while.

Re: Black with CRAGARS?
in this months classic trucks magazine they put cragar ss on their white 72 when they put on a drop kit. I tried to get cragar ss for my 67 converted to five lug in 16 and 17 and was told cragar wont be making them any more in the 5 on 5. I never did inquire about 15 inch. I went with coys wheels c5 in 17 and 18 and am just as happy
