Lug pattern (4 3/4 X 5) and wheels?

Hey, I bought this 71 and I cant seem to easily find any wheels in the boneyard out back that will fit it. I have measured the lug pattern like 50 times and keep coming up with 4 3/4. Is this it? I was at sears yesterday and they had a book in automotive that said 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive had a 5 on 5 lug pattern. Can anyone tell me what is up with that? Are all of the 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive trucks from 71 up 4 3/4? If so, what wheels would go well with it? Thanks

Yup...5 on 5. You probably mis measured...easy mistake.
Any GM full size car, and any GM full size truck or van. Interestingly, the astro van has 5 on 5 too, but they have some seriously fugly wheels.

If it's a factory 5-lug 1/2-ton axle, it should be a 5-lug on 5" pattern. The easiest way to check is to measure from the TOP of one wheel stud to the CENTER of the third stud. It sounds like you have been measuring center-to-center, which does not work on a 5-lug pattern. Chances are, you really do have a 5 on 5. Hope this helps.

Oh, I see. I was measuring center to center. But still, what are the rims in the back then? They are silver and black, and have them black caps that pop on with teh little fake lugs on it and a bowtie in the middle. They are just a hair too small. But they are five lug too. Any ideas on what wheels to rob off of something that look good. Any car, any make, whatever.
