'85 Front Suspension onto a '68
The wrecker finally delivered my '85 front end that I want to graft onto my '68 frame. Everything seems to be in good shape and its a pleasure to work with bolts that aren't quite rusted into oblivion. My question is: How do I get the pitman shaft bolt off? I don't want to heat it because I'm scared to wreck the seals on the power steering. I don't want to wrench it too hard out of fear of wrecking something in the ps unit. What to do?

wil be a nut, not a bolt, just break it loose, sometimes have to use big pipe wrench, and then go get a pitman arm puller and pull it off the shaft, but remember which splines were mated because it affects steering wheel location and steering radius, etc i wouldnt remove the arm from the pitman arm shaft if you dont really need to. and am unsure what you mean by grafting, you wont be needing to do any grafting to use 85 front on a 64-87 truck.
