the fabled fiberglass toolbox door

Here it is, never thought I would actually see one. I must say its nicer that I thought it would be. I don’t understand why they couldn’t get people to buy these! Well worth the $300 or so they were charging.

Here are some photos.

Re: the fabled fiberglass toolbox door

Yeehaw!!Lookin`good on an actual truck.I didn`t realize you had a low-mile Longhorn.I`m glad it found a good home.(sorry about the signature thing )No rust worries with that one.I think he produced them just a bit ahead of their time.Or,you could say he should have been more patient.I wonder if the molds exist.Someone should contact him. It`s Dennis`truck parts in Pinelas Park,FL.(or Pinellas) Let`s see if this works www.dennischevytruckparts.com
I just went there.I see he`s selling his business.

Re: the fabled fiberglass toolbox door

Tim... his rig was a time casule... he had factory stickers on the brake drums, all kinds of neat stuff, sat from 79 till 97 IIRC, I have literally had nighmares of a disgrunted neighbor pouring brake fluid all over the hood of my truck. (I saw dave's photos of that, he found it like that)

TTT>>>Hey everybody, look at this thing!!!It`s a thing few have witnessed.Don`t be so ho-hum and show some enthusiasm. This thing laid in mothballs waiting for the day computers would bring about a world-class truck site and the union between an obsolete reproduction and a beautiful low-mile Longhorn.Rare on rare.It went from Florida,to Maryland, then to Texas.Fantastic!!!

Re: the fabled fiberglass toolbox door

I have a few clean original ones I'm restoring...

I’m doing some CNC work for the weakest part of the whole door. The thin brittle formed sheet metal latch release that goes thru the door.

Soon a few nice clean doors that will actually work with out bending the handle off!

I'll post some pics when they are finished.
