Good replacement auto
I'm looking to replace the manual column shift in my 68. The guy before me converted it to floor shift and the tranny's so loose I can barely find second at a standstill. What is a good easy auto replacement transmission for this truck. Its got a 250 out of a mid 80's truck in it...inline 6.

Re: Good replacement auto
TH-350 w/6" tailshaft should be a bolt in. 200-4R is the same dimension if you're looking for an overdrive. If you want a 700-R4 you'll need to shorten your driveshaft.

TV Cable, metric oil line adapters, You'll have to wire up the lock-up converter for 4th. If it is a 4l60e trans, you'll need the computer. Stay away from 700r4 built from 1985 back, (unless they've been rebuilt). There are other things to do to the inside to beef up the shifting.
