Rear Brake Hose
Having difficulty finding the correct rear brake hose. I have a 1/2T 67 coil SWB frame and a 1/2T 72 12 bolt rear end.
My question is did they use a bracket(strap like) on the 72 that makes the line/hose connection mount closer to the frame center line? IIRC the 67 line/hose connection is at the edge of the frame rail. Anybody have a good part number for the rear hose? My parts house sells Wagneer(?) brake parts. TIA - Bob

AR15 - thanks. Is that listed for a 67 or a 72?

Re: Rear Brake Hose
I am going through the same thing right now. The '71/72 hose bolts on a strap at the rear end cover plate, however, it appears to be too short to reach the earlier years frame location. I bought the hose shown from O'Reillys (stock item for 67-70) and made a strap bracket to clip the hose to at the rear end positioned like a '71/72. Looks like it will work perfect.

Re: Rear Brake Hose
Yeah, the 71-72 steel line runs further back than the 67-70. The rubber hose comes in at a different angle on the two types. the earlier one comes more from the front and towards the pass. side, and the latter one comes more from towards the center of the axle from above.

Re: Rear Brake Hose
I found this listed for the 67. You can view the listing here: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,ca...,parttype,1792
I'm not soliciting, I work at RockAuto. Let me know if I can try to be any more help |
