71 4x4
I recently bought this supposed to be 71 4x4 pickup shortbed over the phone. The way it was described to me I jumped on the deal. After I sent payment and had it brought to me, I was crushed. Someone had installed a 71 2x4 cab unto it, with dash cut at radio, and frame was rigged to make it a 4x4, not original 4x4 frame. After I contacted seller, all he could tell me is he did not know. I dont know what I am going to do with this thing, as I sure dont want it. Anybody???. I am not sure how to send pics on this site, but I can send to your email address. Or can sombody show me how to insert pics. I am new to this.

Re: 71 4x4
Some people do that conversion to get a 4x4 , but it is a cloned version. Check the numbers on the frame and you'll probably figure out what year the frames from. Its is some obvious mis -interpreation of what the truck originally was... buying over a phone or even ebay is buyer beware. People just use the "I know nothing" and it's a viable statement.
But, yah it sux to get stung like that. Perhaps it was an original 71 shortbox..perhaps with leaf springs. Still worth a fair buck if you brought it back to original and sold the 4x4 components. Still if you didnt get what was suppose to be delivered...open up a can of whoop ass. |

Re: 71 4x4
If you want a 4x4 and this conversion was done right, keep it.You wont find a original shortbed 4x4 cheap so keep what you have if you want a shortbed 4x4.If it was a poor conversion and you still want it,adress whats wrong. It wont be worth what an original shortbed 4x4 is worth but its still a cloned shortbed 4x4.Im sure if you subscribe and post this on the parts board someone would still buy it

That sucks! I agree with Rod on the can of whoop-ass. Since you have it, check it out and see if everything works right on it go from there.
