Re: Installing Z28 Valve Springs On 882 Heads

got questions feel free to ask. p.m. me if you like.

to do this on the engine you need to rotate the engine until each cyl has both valves closed and charge the cyl with air.. to hold the valves closed.

i know theres a lot of guy's with tired springs and shot valve seals out there

heres the tool to charge the cylinders with air
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-A...QQcmdZViewItem

you can even check your cyl compression with that tool

you will really be a fly guy then

Wondering... That one picture shows a black umbrella seal on the valve in the second groove, and the rubber o-ring down to the guide. I thought the o-ring went in the groove and the seal set down to the guide??

Re: Installing Z28 Valve Springs On 882 Heads

here's some pictures of the parts i just pulled off the old heads..

i found one cracked valve....

and you can see the difference in the spring heights.
YOU DON'T NEED A SPRING TENSION TESTER TO SEE THIS

so if your ever wondering why a tune-up just don't do it..
and you've stripped all the screws on your carb trying to make it run better..

check out the valve's and seals they might just tell the story

heres some pictures

cracked valve

shot springs

rock hard seals, crumble in your hand
