trucks parting out. Speak up, scrap prices are HIGH, in danger of being crushed
Scrap prices are HIGH, my buddy is cleaning out his yard. I talked him into NOT crushing this stuff right away. Post up here any interest and I will get prices. This guy is not trying to get rich, so you wont pay alot for *most* things. Shipping is a possibility, but it adds to the cost, the wifey does not do it for free. |

That first truck needs to go in one piece. Somebody save that thing.

Will he part them out?!
If he will, I's really like to know how much he needs for the auto trans steering column (with linkage) and brake pedal assy. The California "Black Plates" also seem to be popular, though I don't know why. -Brad

What year is truck #1? Are the doors dry? If so, I can come grab these from you.

Re: trucks parting out. Speak up, scrap prices are HIGH, in danger of being crushed
I have NO clue what year any of these trucks are, or if the doors are "dry" or not. I did not notice any rust, but I did not specifically look either, just a quick once over.
He is not fond of anything in his yard. Everything is in danger of being crushed, lucky for us, he can only take 3 rigs at a time, and these are somewhat buried. He will sell you just about anything you want off of anything past the office. He is not open on sundays, but the gate is normally open. He lives on site. The place is called Amerals Truck-Auto Wrecking&scrap Metals. If you buy from him it will be cheaper. Local people, PM me if you want his phone number. Re: trucks parting out. Speak up, scrap prices are HIGH, in danger of being crushed
The first truck is a 1964, provided the fenders and/or emblems have not been changed. The second one, with the dual headlights is a 1960 I believe? Is there more than 2 in your pics? From what I can see, both trucks are way too good for the crusher. Anyone looking in the northern states would absolutely love to find one as clean as either of those two for projects. That '64 is 10x as clean as the '66 I'm starting with. It would make me sick to think someone's running it through the crusher.

I'll check on pricing tommorow on the complete trucks, and on the individual pieces.

Re: trucks parting out. Speak up, scrap prices are HIGH, in danger of being crushed
I'd seriously like to get the ashtray & any ash tray parts, and secondly any/all of the bezel knobs with the switches and ignition (if there's a key), oh and the square headlight bezels...
things would have to be shipped, and I have no problems paying for that whatsoever!

Re: trucks parting out. Speak up, scrap prices are HIGH, in danger of being crushed
here is some pricing I got today. Seems like some stuff he is more proud of than others.
Price for entire truck in first pic, $1100. Has a clean title, he hasn't turned it in yet. It runs and drove. Nothing missing off of it yet, except some exterior chrome, as seen in the pictures. Chrome Grille off of the '64, $250, decent grille off the other, $150 283 or 327, runs nice, $500 Windshields, $125 for the mint one, $100 for the one with a minor repairable rock chip. front bumpers$80, rear $60 Tailgates, $125 for the ones that have lips straight as an arrow with minor fixable dents, and $80-100 for the so-so ones. Decent bed $500 Tail lights, $50 pr. misc lights, 15 ea Instrument clusters, $100 Complete column with steering wheel $100 straight hood $75 Decent (bare) cab with title $400 (NO SHIPPING) Wrecked Titled(clean) cab, as much or as little as you want of it, $200 Floor section/trans tunnel $100.(wont be available till the owner gets most of the money out of the truck) Radiators $100 Ignition switch with key, $25 any other switch in the cab $10 Ash tray and related, $25 Chrome, $3 a foot, providing it doesn't get damaged Just to let you know.... Anything weighing over 10# or so, and wont fit in a box that a pregnant woman cant lift will not be shipped out quickly. If its heavy or bulky, the ol lady wont touch it to ship. She will be doing the bulk of the shipping, she has time during the day to do it. This means that heavy/bulky items I have to do it If I do it, it means that it could take 1-2 weeks after I get the part pulled to get it to a shipper. I work 2 jobs, and finding time to do everything is tough, and I have to drive 50 miles to a shipping terminal. I don't trust his guys to touch vintage trucks, they screw **** up like it is pick and pull, so I have to do it myself on sundays. It costs me $35+ a day to operate my truck when I have to go to the city, so if it cant be shipped UPS, i'll need that plus whatever shipping and crating materials run. I'm not trying to rip anybody off, just lettin ya know what the deal is, and that you need to be patient on the larger items. Last edited by masterbeavis; 04-08-2007 at 05:42 PM. |
