Re: WTB Factory 67-72 Speaker
what kind of radio do you have? If its not factory you can builda little plate and put 2 4inch speakers there. I'm sure the factory size speaker can still be bought cheap you may just have to fab a bracket.

Re: WTB Factory 67-72 Speaker
It is a factory AM radio - I don't know if the aftermarket ones you see in the catalogs will work or not. It is stamped (the radio) with 8 to 10 ohms - do the aftermarket ones fall in that range or are they just for modern replacement radios. I want to keep the original radio and just need a speaker that will work with it. It doesn't need to be fancy or new, just working - mice ate the cone out of the one I have.
Thanks, |

Re: WTB Factory 67-72 Speaker
Was there a difference between stock am radio speakers and the stock am/fm speaker? I have a couple of pickup am speakers around somewhere but need one for my am/fm radio.

Re: WTB Factory 67-72 Speaker
If you can't find a suitable stock speaker, you can wire two 4 ohm speakers to an 8 ohm load if you're worried about the resistance. If you wire them in series you will get an 8 ohm load. It could be a cheaper way.
Anyhow, good luck on the speaker hunt.

Re: WTB Factory 67-72 Speaker
If you want a proper new one that fits go to the link below. You MUST use the 8-10 speaker with that original radio or you will damage it. The 4" x 10" delco special is what you want. Brand new, its $46. I bought one and it sounds great and allows more room (smaller magnet) than the original.

Re: WTB Factory 67-72 Speaker
Good move mparcel, you won't regret it! I have one of these and the sound quality with my original am/fm is really good, I highly recommend this company.
